Let me count the ways…

Posted in Being Mom | 1 Comment »

1. my daughter is emo and she is sucking my soul of any and all positivity.
2. I am changing feminine pads on a dog.
3. Little dog has gone nuts. He cried all night long and has been on a constant hump fest since he woke up. I’d get him fixed tomorrow if I knew he’d stop.
4. I’m watching my in-laws dog, she has a vaginal infection and I have to rub cream on her twat twice a day!
5. My son woke up and said “So Mom what are we going to do today?
6. My husband is going to work :( (this is also kind of a good thing since the dogs are driving him nuts)
7. I am NOT in the mood. (Oddly enough I am in a fairly good mood considering I didn’t sleep much because of the dog who cried all night)

So yeah… oh and someone shit on my patio!

Humorous, no?

I’m not that bad…

You have no idea the apprehension I feel sending my daughter to school today. Worse yet, I’m going out to my husband’s work which is 30 minutes away… She too is nervous.

We two seem to be the only ones in this whole situation that is at all worried. On Friday I called the Mom of my daughter’s best friend to tell her about what was going on at school. She told me that she had heard about it that morning but she really needed to get home…. WHAT?!

Then there was my Mother…. well honey you can’t protect her, her whole life.

Staying busy will make the day go by quicker.

*Just as we pulled up to the school this morning, they started talking about my daughter’s school on the radio. We heard them say that attendance was up to the parents. I parked my car, went into the school with my daughter and told them she would not be attending today. Then she went to my husband’s work with me. We’ll face tomorrow when tomorrow comes.

Tonight FINALLY on the news.

Unbelievable!

Friday afternoon my daughter called me from school. She isn’t supposed to use her phone during school hours but will sneak me a call when she isn’t feeling well or really wants to come home. Since she isn’t supposed to call the calls always worry me some. When I answered her call she told me that there was supposed to be a gun fight or a shoot out at her school. She told me all the exits were blocked off and the police where there. Then she told me she had to go and hung up. Freaked me out so I drove past her school. They had cars blocking all the exits out of the school and there was a police car on the side road but it was empty. I drove past the school and decided to call.

“Hello, this is a parent of one of your students, I was just told there is supposed to be some type of gun activity at school today and you’ve got the exits blocked off.” I was shocked to hear her say… “Yes that is correct and we are just taking some precautions.” I replied “Well, I am taking my own precautions and I’d like her at the front door when I get there.”

I was furious! How dare they not tell me there is a higher danger risk at my child’s school. This school year cannot end soon enough.

Doing a quick google search for my daughter’s school brought me this quote.

On May 2, 2008, it was confirmed there was going to be a drive-by shooting. This event never happened.
