Growing up.

Posted in Being Mom | 1 Comment »

My son’s school just called. He was complaining of a sore throat and a stuffy nose at school. The teacher whom I had already spoken to sent him to the nurse. He didn’t have a fever and he didn’t want to go home. She wanted to know if I wanted to talk to him, so I said sure. He said, “Is this Amy?” haha cute… when I asked him if he wanted me to come get him, he said “no, I want to finish the day out.” So very cute and mature. He probably really just wants to go to PE. He loves PE.

In the meantime my husband is in a foul mood. I have no idea why, I’m guessing work but I do not look forward to dealing with that when he gets home. Maybe he’ll stay late… ugh.

Time with my daughter and other things.

Yesterday my daughter and I took the day off school (she hasn’t missed hardly any school this year and there are only 23 days left, so what the heck.) and we spent some quality time shopping. After we dropped my son off at school, we had some grocery shopping to do. We took our time at Walmart just looking around at everything. We came home and dropped off the groceries and put it away, then loaded up my car with garage sale stuff to take to my Mom’s house.

We decided to make a detour to Micheal’s craft store to look at the beads and jewelry stuff. We ended up getting some very pretty pieces that we’re going to try to make and then sell. We ran next door to Bed, Bath and Beyond to get a new Yankee candle, this months discount scent, Butter cream. It makes me hungry just smelling it.

Then we stopped by Wendy’s drive thru for lunch and onto the dollar store. I needed some more color out front so I got about $20 worth of fake flowers to put into my flower pots. We had to run home before stopped at my Mom’s house because I wanted to unload our goodies, so while we were there we grabbed Louie.

Finally we made our way to my Mom’s house and unloaded all of our crap, plus I had borrowed her new carpet shampoo’er this past weekend so I could do my carpets. Her shampoo’er is the best christmas present I ever got her. hah! My carpets look brand new… or maybe just nice and fresh. We chatted with her a bit and then came back home.

I was just barely able to unpack all of our stuff and set up the new flowers and before we knew it, it was time to pick up my son. My daughter and I had a fabulous day just the two of us being silly and hanging out together. She and I both needed some quality time without a little brother around.

My husband wasn’t far behind us with a yummy club sandwich from TGIFridays. I had gotten a $10 card from one of the survey places I do surveys for. The rest of the night just seemed to fly by and shortly it was bedtime. Neither of us wanted our day to end. It did give us a look into how it would feel to home school, being able to make our own hours and such.

It was so hot yesterday, about 75 degrees we all ended up sweaty and sleeping without covers. Now today is very windy and only 61. My son wasn’t feeling well this morning, so I took him into his classroom and told his teacher if at any time he wanted to come home, she could call. So far no call, so I’ll take that as a good sign.

Today after school my daughter gets spacers put in her mouth to make room for what they call a maru (sp?) which basically replaced headgear, lucky chick. Then next Tuesday she’ll get the Maru thingies put on her teeth. She’ll have those for a couple of months before she gets the actual braces on.

Then on Thursday I’m taking them both to a new eye doctor. I’m thinking my son probably needs glasses too since he’s been getting a lot of headaches lately. My daughter thinks she’d like to try contacts so we’ll see about that. I’m thinking she should get glasses and maybe a trial pair of contacts.

Monday for me brings the dreaded pap and medication discussion. It seems I can no longer hold out on them or they will not give me any more pills. What jerks. I’m sure I’ll live. If I like the new eye Doctor I’ll make myself an appointment to get some new glasses as well, since mine are really scratched up.

I guess that is all… I’ve been busy as you can see. I finally got used to putting down 37 for my age about 2 months ago and shortly I’ve have to start putting 38. Wonder how long I’ll continue to put 37 just out of habit. hah!

Maxx Pops, I want my 360!

Blogger_embedMy husband is a huge lover of all things energy related and both my son and husband would kill for an xbox 360. Well now I can get both…plus a $100 gift certificate! A couple of months ago, my husband got these pops in his store. I always feel the need to try anything new, so I did. Now normally I don’t do the energy pills or drinks but I loved the flavor of the pops. It tastes like lemon line with a touch of cream soda flavor which is much better in my opinion than most of the energy drinks. I also did feel the added pep to keep going.

Right now they are holding a sweepstakes and you can win an XBOX 360 Elite Bundle, a $100 gift certificate and a 12 pack of MAXXED energy pops. If you don’t have a blog you can also enter to win an Xbox 360 Elite bundle in the Keep Going Sweepstakes.

What are Maxxed Pops? They are a larger than normal lollipop that has Ginseng, Guarana, Taurine & B-vitamins to give you the energy you need to keep going. They only have 90 calories which is less than the average energy drink. They come in a can that looks like an energy drink which makes them very portable. Try them today and then enter to win your very own Xbox 360!

My daughter had a friend sleep over last night. It just so happens that this friend has a younger brother who is also in my son’s class. Now my son and this boy weren’t friends, they weren’t enimies but they weren’t friends either. His mom offered for my son to stay at their house, which I knew my husband wouldn’t want so we asked if their boy could come to our house for a couple of hours. It wasn’t horrible, although the boy is afraid of dogs and we kind of have THREE. So yeah…

Later today my husband’s father is coming over and we’re going to one of those buffet places. Should be interesting to say the least.
