House Redo.

Posted in Snapshots | 4 Comments »

Pictures of the “make-over”. The majority of the house was painted with a color called Pecan Sandie. Notice the kid’s bathroom/guest bath is no longer blue. Neither is the playroom. No more Carolina Blue in my house. I hated that paint since it was a flat base. Husband and I use High Gloss through-out the house. It costs a little more but its totally worth it. Nice shiny, clean paint that is easy to keep clean too. Pictures are before on the left and after on the right. Or top and bottom depending on how my theme is.
Before After

My daughter’s room was painted with a color called Malted Milk, we also used this color on our ceiling in our bathroom and bedroom. Her room is not quite complete so I don’t have any pictures yet.

Living room

My kids did not have school today. So I was finally able to finish off every room of the house. My daughter still has one box left to unpack from when we packed everything up to paint, but the rest of the house is back to normal. Finally!

My husband was off for four days this past week. It was wonderful and all of us really enjoyed our time off. Son’s party was a total bust. The one boy who did come only got to stay for about an hour. His Mom and Grandmother also came. Then my son’s grandparents stopped by… (to judge) They ate pizza and cake while my husband and I made fun of them for eating bad foods. Didn’t stop my MIL from eating the biggest piece of cake she could cut for herself.

My room My bedroom

I have to say I am in love with my room. I’ve pieced it together from different stores, settled for a comforter I wasn’t thrilled with but which worked out wonderfully! But my most favorite part is sitting beside my husband while we both do our own things on the computer.

My room

The color of my room is crowning purple. Reminds me of royalty. I started with the gold satin sheets, then we painted with the purple. I found the curtains (gold) at Ross in B-town for $5 each, then the comforter (purples) at Ross in M-town for $19 and finally the shower curtain (gold) at Ross in my town for $10. I already had the gold napkins I use for table scarfs. The purple on the desk/table is our old sheets and the table is from my husband’s work.

Catch up.

( Started Thursday ) Both kids are sleeping. Yes sleeping at 2:30pm. My daughter started to feel icky yesterday and today was worse. We still drove all the way to school, but instead just turned around and came home. The school called me 25 minutes before normal pick up time to tell me my son had a fever of 102. So now they’re sleeping… The vacuum has been sitting in my living room for about an hour but I didn’t want to use it for fear I’d wake them.

Husband’s home today… nothing special about that other than its just nice to have him home. Its also been snowing off and on all day. I want it to snow all day and night so tomorrow is a snow day and the kids can miss school without having to call them in sick.

Back at the half way mark to loosing weight.. eh. I’ll manage it. If I had been smart I wouldn’t have eaten like ½ the amount of food and the types of foods I ate while painting I’d have lost an extra pound or two. I have gotten out of the habit of tracking the food and exercise although I haven’t quit exercising. But that’s ok… I’m good. I’ll get there. I do notice my bras are a little roomier. heh I could stand to lose about 10 pounds in each one of those puppies.

So I started the entry on Thursday of last week… its now Tuesday…. Read the rest of this entry »

Seven

Today my son turns 7. Its a huge number this year since he is now probably the oldest boy in his class. He likes that. He has changed and grown so much this year. He’s becoming more and more his own person and less of a Momma’s boy. Although I never minded my little man being a Momma’s boy.He is hopefully having a party this coming Friday. I’ve only had one parent call and that was to say they were not going to be able to come. I hope he has at least a couple friends come.

My Mom is planning on taking him shopping to pick out a new helmet to go with his new bike. His other grandparents are out of town and will probably come to his party on Friday.

Later on we’ll make some cupcakes that he picked out, I’ll give him his bike. Dad will bring home his favorite meal (yet to be picked) or we’ll go out and get it. Yep its going to be a good day.

Sweet Boy.

The boy my daughter goes to school with is very ill. He was doing very good but has taken a turn for the worse. Please if you pray, pray for this boy. He’s a super good kid and to be totally honest I don’t want my daughter to lose her first friend, she’s far too young for that. So please pray, chant do whatever you think works best so this boy may get better soon.

I emailed this to many of my friends and family, sorry if I overloaded you…
