Jerks.
Posted in Day-to-day | 1 Comment »There was quite a bit of snow over night, but is the school closed or starting late? Hell no.
I’m sorry but it just seems wrong that almost everyone (Browniechick, javachick, not sure about Ingachick) has had a snow day or ice day… except us the people who actually get snow regularly.

Birthday with no Pants.
Posted in Day-to-day | 2 Comments »In all the moving and painting I have somehow lost my most favorite pair of pants. How does a person lose a pair of pants? I’ve looked everywhere they might be and everywhere they would never be but I cannot find my pants.
Some might think, big deal its just a pair of pants… but when you only have about 5 pairs and the missing pair you wear probably twice a week are the missing ones, its a huge major deal. I love those black pants. I need those black pants! Read the rest of this entry »

Explain this….
Posted in Being Mom | 2 Comments »to a child. A sweet boy from my daughter’s school was hurt badly over the weekend. He was with his brother at a gas station in town. The older brother was flicking his lighter while pumping gas. The gas caught on fire and burned 48% of the boys body. Luckily it seems his face was not burned. How do explain to your children why things like this happen to good people. The boy, who was in my daughter’s PE class was always very nice to her. Even when she did poorly or made her team lose because of her lack of skills Myles was always the one to say “Good job, Nice try.”
My daughter took in all her money today to donate to the family of this boy to help with the huge medical bills they will have. She’s very upset and honestly I don’t know how to explain why God lets things like this happen. I need help. What would you tell your child? How would you explain why things like this happen? How would you explain why good people are hurt or die but the bad people just keep living on and hurting more people?

*Update* The older brother has set up a blog for the Mom to keep everyone updated on his condition. My daughter and I have been checking back constantly to see how he is. Yesterday seemed like a good day, today not so much, but this boy appears to have such a good support group and such a good outlook I think he’ll be ok in the long run. And thankfully his face was not burnt at all. My daughter was super angry that the school did not have jars set up for donations. But Wells Fargo and all the local Albertsons have got their donations set up, so later today we’ll go to Albertson’s to give her money.
Even though Albertson’s was not at fault at all they have donated 10,000 to help with medical bills. Albertson’s and BSU will be out all weekend collecting money for Myles. What a wonderful thing, they’ve done. I have to say right at this moment I am proud to live in a town that takes care of its own.

Unexcused snow day.
Posted in Day-to-day | Comments OffIt was snowing this morning when I woke up. The grass was covered but the roads were not. When it was time to leave we got in the car to leave and it wouldn’t start. Seems when someone filled up my gas tank on Sunday they didn’t turn the key all the way over and my battery was dead. So I called my Mom to see if she could take my daughter to school, son was already late. Mom came over and jumped my car and it started right up, but I didn’t want to risk having it not start when it was time to pick up either of the kids so they’re getting an extra day off.
They are outside now playing in the snow while I make hot chocolate (and blog, real quick). Today I guess I’ll finish any touch up work to the paint and then finish putting my house back together. Its mostly done, just need to put some things back and organize the stuff thrown into boxes. My daughter’s room looks wonderful and I can’t wait to finish organizing her stuff. Its clean, fresh and looks like a teenagers room now.
During the painting I wasn’t able to cook since my kitchen and 80% of my house was all piled all over the place. So we’d been eating take out for the past week. I gained back two pounds but then this morning it was gone again so that was a pleasant surprise. Specially since I had been packing in the junk while I was unable to cook. heh… ok so I could have cooked but it just wasn’t working to well. Now the kitchen it 90% back to normal and I made dinner last night. I no longer have any excuse not to get back to eating right and exercising.
So that’s it… oh expect that we got a new computer. MIL’s computer died* and she went and bought herself a newer, bigger and better computer. I went out and got her old computer (its only about a year old) and husband had a friend fix it so now we get to keep it. Kinda cool huh?
Later…
* died in MIL terms means she got “the blue screen of death” and didn’t know how to fix it and knew it would cost too much to have someone fix it so she just bought a new one.
